SRST DEIS Comments Letter fr Chairwoman Alkire 12.13.2023
To the Corps of Engineers:
Attached please find the multi-volume report of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, entitled Call for the Shutdown of the Dakota Access Pipeline and Comments on the Army Corps of Engineers‘ Draft Environmental Impact Statement. Standing Rock’s concerns with DAPL warrant serious consideration by the Corps of Engineers, especially as they relate to the 1851 and 1868 Fort Laramie Treaties, and the health and safety of Tribal members.
Do not hesitate to contact the Standing Rock Department of Water Resources, Doug Crow Ghost, Director, at dcrowghost@standingrock.org or (701) 854-8534, if there are any questions or comments. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Janet Alkire, Chairwoman
Standing Rock Sioux Tribe
